How To Take Dark Hair to Platinum Blonde!

Pruducts needed for lightening hair to Platinum Blonde:

Goldwell Oxycur Lightener and 30 Vol. Topchic Developer - Mix one scoop of lightener and 30ml developer. Leave on for 30 minutes up to 45 minutes max. If you're going platinum, you would need to bleach 3 times all together and then apply a purple based toner. This product 'foams' during the developing time, so don't just "paint" it on. Use your hands to work the bleach in. Make sure you apply just enough so it doesn't get dry before the 30-45 minutes, it'll really damage your hair! *DO NOT USE HEAT WITH THESE PRODUCTS!

ALSO make sure to buy the measuring bowl so you can measure out the developer correctly!

Additional products:

Like I said, it will take awhile before your hair is manageable again. Be patient and very gentle with your hair! Don't blow-dry. If you do, make sure you use the setting where it's cool air, not hot. Don't shampoo for the FIRST week- just use conditioner, hot oil, and the reconstructor.

Have fun going blonde guys!

  5. unphreys07- Yes, I’ve heard that Wella is good too, but I haven’t used it and I don’t know the directions, that’s why I can’t recommend it. But if you do know what you’re doing it’s effective. I know of a bunch of people in the salon that uses Wella.

  11. so you have to like dye your hair every two weeks so the roots don’t show right?

I would NEVER do that, dying your hair that blonde, like bleach blond is going to ruin your hair .. you prob look cute to with black hair .. this is just kind of fake .. :/ sry

    but you are cute though

  13. bou245- No, no! When my roots grow in I only bleach it once. At first it appears even, but as it grows out in about 2 weeks you can see a slight tint of yellow. When I need to touch up my roots again (the following month), I go over the yellowness and the new growth. Usually two bleach sessions would do, as hair near the root bleach/dyes faster. I sometimes wait two months since my bangs cover my front roots, but it really depends if I have somewhere/someone to see or not.

  14. When it grows back, are you bleaching your hair 3 times again??.. Because I’ve got dark brown hair, I dont use a Bleach but I use 40 volume with blonde dye, and I’m almost as blonde as u, well a little darker, but still i dont need to bleach my hair everytime i want to do roots touch up. But im looking foward to have lighter blonde hair, but I’m scared about bleach (hahaha) and if you’ve got to touch up ur hair again with bleach every month… I just think that hair will be all ugly and dry..

  15. And It will return your hair to its natural color if the color applied is darker than your natural shade. If the artificial color applied is lighter than your natural color, your natural pigment has been chemically lightened and although Color Oops will remove the artificial dye from your hair, ultimately your hair will be the chemically-lightened color. But that is NOT due to the color remover itself.

  16. Color removers reĀ moves sufficient tint for application of fresh color, but does NOT leave the hair pure white or lighten natural pigment. Therefore, it CAN NOT be used as a substitute for a bleach. Also, the one I recommended is ammonia free/bleach free.

  17. Hair bleaching works by oxidizing the melanin molecule and lightens the hair. Bleaching can be done with oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide or an activator. Hair goes through different stages of lightening. From black, reddish brown, light orange red, gold orange, gold, yellow, and the palest yellow blonde. When you reach the desired level of lightness, you wash off the bleach, dry your hair and then deposit your selected hair color.

  18. heartbleedshope- heartbleedshope- Bleach may be used as a color remover, but a color remover is NOT bleach. Why would you bleach over previously dyed hair and virgin hair at the same time? You can do it, but it will be uneven.

  19. to heartbleedhope: I’ve mangaged to get color remover from sallys beauty supply and i’m not a licensed anything. of course your gonna say to go to salon. how else do you make your money?

  20. do NOT use a stripper or “color remover” then bleach your hair. Especially since i have a feeling you used permanent color to dye it black. Your hair will be damaged beyond belief! Plus bleach is already a color remover, why would you use both? But it doesn’t matter anyways because color remover isn’t even open for the public to buy in the first place. I’m a licensed cosmetologist. Believe me when i say there ARE impossibilities when it comes to coloring hair and also big no no’s. Go to a salon.
