Professional Shampoo and Conditioner Tips

How often you wash your hair depends on your hair type, those with oily hair will find that they may need to wash their hair daily while those with curly or dry hair can go for every second or third day.

The Proper Way to Shampoo Hair

Complete wet your Hair and scalp using either cold or warm water (avoid hot water as it dries out your scalp). Use only a small amount of shampoo (the size of a quarter) and distribute it evenly throughout your hair paying special attention to your scalp. Avoid rubbing you hair in a rough way, remember that the main object of shampooing is to clean your scalp of oil, not to stress out the ends of your hair. Massage shampoo gently and rinse with cool water. Only rinse and repeat if you have very oily hair, otherwise it is not necessary.

The Best Way to Apply Conditioner

Once the shampoo has been thoroughly rinsed from your hair, apply some conditioner to the palms of your hands and rub them together. Apply the conditioner to your hair starting from the midsection and down to the ends. Avoid the scalp as it will make your scalp too oily. Comb through hair with fingers or a wide tooth comb. Rinse hair thoroughly and if you can manage it a cold rinse is best.
